Chief scientist gets Society of Chemical Industry honour, awarded only 16 times in 78 years
UK government chief scientific adviser Patrick Vallance is to receive the Society of Chemical Industry’s Lister Medal, which has only been awarded 16 times since it was first awarded in 1944.
The medal is given to those working on medical developments that have made a major difference to society, and Vallance is being honoured for his leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic, specifically on the rollout of vaccines.
