UKRI diversity and inclusion plan ‘incomplete and lacking’

    

Statistical and mathematical societies call for changes to assessment of research proposals

UK Research and Innovation’s draft equality, diversity and inclusion strategy is “incomplete and lacking in detail”, according to four leading learned societies.

In a letter to UKRI’s chief executive Ottoline Leyser, representatives from the Royal Statistical Society, together with the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, the London Mathematical Society and the Edinburgh Mathematical Society, raise a number of concerns about the document published in January.
