Ian Boyd begins role as president of Royal Society of Biology

Professor at the University of St Andrews takes over from Julia Goodfellow

Ian Boyd has begun the role of president of the Royal Society of Biology, following Julia Goodfellow’s four-year term as president.

Boyd is a professor at the University of St Andrews, has been a part of the government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) and chairs the UK Research Integrity Office, an independent body that provides guidance on research conduct.
