British Academy president asks for funding to be “ringfenced and committed” amid political crisis
The president of the British Academy has sought assurances from the chancellor on the government’s stance on Horizon Europe—as fears grow that the UK political crisis of recent weeks could put a halt to key R&D plans.
In a letter dated 11 July, Julia Black asked newly appointed chancellor Nadhim Zahawi to ensure that the full funding set out in the spending review for UK association to the European Union programme or alternative schemes is “ringfenced and committed”.
