Charity urges government to create Dementia Medicines Taskforce and deliver on funding promise

A leading Alzheimer’s charity has renewed calls to increase public funding for dementia research, as a study revealed that people with the disease were disproportionately affected by the pandemic.

According to new data published by the Office for National Statistics, just over one in five (21.8 per cent) people who died of Covid-19 in 2020 and 2021 were living with dementia.
