New chair appointed to UK centre for reducing animal research

Former Universities UK president to chair organisation working to reduce animal use in research

The UK’s national centre for reducing the use of animals in research has appointed a new chair of its board.

On 21 August the centre announced that former president of the vice chancellors’ group Universities UK, Julia Buckingham, would take up the role at the NC3Rs, which works to accelerate advances in replacing, reducing and refining the use of animals in research—a principle commonly referred to as the 3 Rs.
