British Academy welcomes review of R&D for creative industries

                  

But learned society calls for guidance to ensure “fair balance” between creators and AI developers

Julia Black, the president of the British Academy, has welcomed the government’s response to the academy’s report on R&D for the creative industries.

The response from the culture secretary Lucy Fraser agreed with the need to carry out a review of public funding of R&D in this sector to improve the evidence base, and called the academy’s report “important and insightful”.
