Cut of pilot scheme to address physics teacher shortages triggers criticism from Institute of Physics

A pilot scheme offering non-UK trainee teachers of languages and physics £10,000 to relocate to England has been cut.

The Department for Education (DfE) has U-turned halfway through the pilot scheme, saying the target is “no longer eligible” for the payment, which was designed to cover some of the costs to move to England, including the costs of visas.
