LifeArc unveils new chief executive and four R&D centres

Sam Barrell will lead medical charity, which is investing nearly £40 million in translational centres

The medical research charity LifeArc has announced its next chief executive and an investment of nearly £40 million in four new research centres for people living with rare diseases.

LifeArc, which is headquartered in London, said on 19 April that Sam Barrell (pictured) would join as chief executive on 1 October from the Francis Crick Institute, a biomedical research centre where she has worked since 2017 and is currently deputy chief executive.
