Chemists hope next UK government will support science

Learned society sets out wish list for actions from next administration

The Royal Society of Chemistry has called on the next government to ensure the UK has an “ambitious, inclusive and stable R&D policy environment”.

To achieve this goal, it urged the government to increase investment in R&D to £22 billion per year in 2026-27, from £20bn in 2024-25, in a policy briefing published ahead of the general election anticipated later this year.
