British Heart Foundation says inflation means the government must increase funding to maintain 2022 levels
Heart research is facing a shortfall of more than a quarter of a billion pounds in funding over the next decade, a leading charity in the area has warned.
The British Heart Foundation revealed new analysis on 17 May, which estimates that, due to inflation, the government will need to invest an extra £259 million over the next decade just to maintain research spending in this field at 2022 levels.
