Osborne needs a ‘plan B’ for medical R&D, says Labour

Chancellor George Osborne needs a plan B for putting “innovation and science at the heart of our economic future”, Labour shadow science minister Chi Onwurah said on 26 November.

The statement was in response to a description of the UK’s approach to medical R&D as “haphazard” by Jon Symonds, global finance director at the pharmaceutical firm Novartis, in the Daily Telegraph.
