BioIndustry Association appoints chief executive

The BioIndustry Association has appointed Steve Bates, a former special advisor to Labour cabinet secretary John Reid, as chief executive.

Bates, who will take up the position in July, replaces interim chief executive Glyn Edwards. Last November Edwards took over from Nigel Gaymond, who the BIA said had “left to pursue other opportunities”.
