UK firms fail to make top 100 global innovators

For the second year running, no UK company is featured in the Thomson Reuters Top 100 Global Innovators table.

The methodology used to compile the list is based on the numbers of patents owned and successfully prosecuted by companies. The 100 companies are not ranked.

The last time a UK company featured was 2011, when the Netherlands/UK company Unilever was the sole UK entry. This year China is also absent from the list. France has the most entries out of the European countries that made it to the list.
