The Technology Strategy Board has appointed Steve Yianni, the technical director of Network Rail, as the chief executive of the Transport Systems Catapult.
The centre will support businesses developing innovative, efficient and sustainable transport methods in the UK.
Yianni, who has also worked at Ford Motor Company and JCB, will take up the role on 1 August.
