Innovate UK is investing around £8 million in collaborative projects aimed at creating more flexible manufacturing companies and computer technologies better adapted to the needs of their users.
In the first project, the former Technology Strategy Board is offering up to £7m to help UK manufacturers react to changes in resources and customer requirements. The agency is co-funding the initiative with the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and will provide 50 to 60 per cent of total project costs of £500,000 to £1.5 million. Applications must be from consortia of at least two businesses plus other partners, including a proposed end-user.
Consortia must register by 28 January 2015.
