The company that pioneered the bagless vacuum cleaner is to spend £1 billion on R&D over the next 4 years.
Dyson will spend the money on developing four product areas, and intends to launch more than 100 products in the 4-year period. The money will be in addition to the company’s normal R&D expenditure, and to a £50-million investment in UK universities over the same period.
Dyson has also broken ground on a £250m expansion of its UK technology campus in Malmesbury, and will spend £200m on expanding its manufacturing plants in south-east Asia.
