Cambridge engineer joins board of energy catapult

David MacKay, the Regius professor of engineering at the University of Cambridge and a former chief scientific adviser to the Department of Energy and Climate Change, has been named as one of four directors at the Energy Systems Catapult.

MacKay is joined by Peter Bance, an entrepreneur and the chief executive of Origami Energy; Tani Nath, a former managing director of the commodities division at Barclays Investment Bank; and Robert Davis, the group chief executive of EA Technology.

The Energy Systems Catapult, which opened in April 2015, was established by Innovate UK to bring academic and industrial researchers together to develop technology-based products and services for the energy industry.
