Government plans to support technology firms involved in the creative industries should not ignore the contribution made by traditional art forms to the UK economy, researchers have warned.
These concerns were raised in response to an independent review, led by Peter Bazalgette, the chairman of ITV. The review, which was published on 22 September, will inform the future direction of government support through its industrial strategy funding awards.
To date, these awards have been mainly used to encourage developments in the robotics, artificial intelligence and computational methods technologies used the film industry and computers games.
