An £8-million fund has been launched by Innovate UK to develop digital technologies that will improve the speed and effectiveness of medical diagnoses and treatment.
Opening at the end of this month, the funding competition will aim to identify projects that can improve patient outcomes, healthcare services and efficiency in healthcare delivery. Technologies should be developed for everyday use in clinical or non-clinical settings.
The agency will award between £50,000 and £75,000 for feasibility projects, to be completed within one year. In the second phase of funding, companies will be able to secure between £500,000 and £1m for industrial research and experimental development, which they must complete within three years.
