Biomedical researchers have been invited to pitch for a share of up to £6.5 million in funding to develop technologies that will improve cancer screening and speed up diagnosis.
Funding for the initiative will be provided by SBRI Healthcare, an investment fund led by the 15 Academic Health Science Networks set up by National Health Service England in 2013 to encourage innovation in healthcare.
As with other SBRI Healthcare programmes, funding will be allocated in two stages. In phase one, applicants will receive up to £100,000 for feasibility projects. They will then be able to access a further £1m to develop their projects in the second phase.
