Agency steps up audits as academic is jailed for £2.5m grant fraud

The UK’s innovation funder is stepping up anti-fraud measures as the scale of its loss to fraud by a former University of Cambridge academic becomes apparent.

Ehsan Abdi-Jalebi, a former fellow at Churchill College, defrauded agencies including Innovate UK out of millions of pounds in green energy research grants.
