The UK’s innovation centre for advanced digital technologies has appointed the UK chief executive of German industrial manufacturing firm Siemens as its new chair.
Juergen Maier will succeed Andy Green in May, the Digital Catapult said in a statement on 13 March.
Maier, who joined Siemens in 1986, also co-chairs the Made Smarter Commission responsible for delivering policy to support industrial digitalisation. He was previously a member of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult board and a non-executive director at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the predecessor of the current Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
