Julia King calls for more funding for Innovate UK ahead of March budget

The proposed UK Advanced Research Projects Agency should be part of a coherent, properly funded innovation strategy, an influential crossbench peer has suggested.

In a comment piece written for Research Fortnight, engineer Julia King, who is chair of the Henry Royce Institute, vice-chair of the Committee on Climate Change and a member of the Innovate UK council, identifies a “gap in the region of our innovation landscape closest to basic research”.
