Announcement comes amid debate over acquisition of UK-based Arm by US Nvidia for $40bn

The US multinational technology giant Nvidia and UK-based semiconductor and software design company Arm Holdings have announced a new AI Research Centre in Cambridge.

The announcement comes amid news of the controversial acquisition of Arm by Nvidia for $40 billion (£31.2bn), which some critics say could lead to a loss of science jobs in the UK.
