UK scientists hit by lab delays and shortages due to Brexit


But they welcome the chance to relax the European Union’s strict regulation of genetic technologies

Scientists at several leading UK research laboratories have been experiencing spiralling costs, delays and supply shortages as a result of Brexit.

The red tape imposed on imports and exports between the UK and the European Union since January is having negative effects on research, they say, even as they welcome the prospect of more relaxed UK regulation of genetic engineering.
