Government told to invest in centres of excellence in regulatory science and innovation in healthcare

The UK government should increase investment in regulatory science to boost the country’s international leadership in innovative medical devices, according to an independent expert committee.

In its new report, the Regulatory Horizons Council, which advises the government on regulatory reform, sets out how the UK could strengthen the regulation of medical devices post-Brexit, drawing on lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic.
