‘Radical readjustment’ of clinical trials seeks to slash costs

Initiative supported by NHS and industry aims to make trials simpler for patients and researchers

A UK-based initiative has been launched to slash the costs of clinical trials by making it far simpler for patients and researchers to take part.

Protas, a not-for-profit organisation, has been set up to “radically readjust the economics” of late-stage clinical trials by designing studies from scratch to minimise their complexity and cost.
