Scientists launch UK monkeypox research consortium

               

Group to bring together experts from 12 institutions across the country

A new consortium is aiming to boost the development of new tests and vaccines for monkeypox in the UK.

Led by the Pirbright Institute and the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research, and backed by £2 million from the national funder UK Research and Innovation, the consortium will draw together experts from 12 institutions across the country, including Imperial College London, the University of Edinburgh and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
