Traditional review mechanisms not addressing challenges of growing data science field, report warns

Ethical review processes are failing to address the many challenges presented by AI and data science research, a new report has warned.

AI and data science research can have “substantial effects” on people’s lives and it is “essential” for it to be conducted safely and responsibly, according to the report from the Ada Lovelace Institute, the Alan Turing Institute and the University of Exeter.
