NIHR reveals its ‘central role’ during Covid-19 pandemic

Health funder provided £108 million for coronavirus studies in 2020-21, annual report shows

A new report by the National Institute for Health Research has highlighted the “central role” NIHR played during the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to its 2020-21 annual report, the funder allocated £108 million of its £1.2 billion budget to Covid-19 studies.
