Improving compute must align with major R&D strategies, says Google vice-president who led review
The UK government has published an independent review of the country’s compute capacity, which calls for a strategic vision to unlock the benefits of compute to R&D and wider society.
A new vision and roadmap for compute are needed for the UK to reduce the cost and time required for R&D, and to advance transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence, according to the review led by Zoubin Ghahramani, a professor of information engineering at the University of Cambridge and vice-president of research at Google.
