Voluntary industry pricing scheme under negotiation as science minister trails plan to boost clinical trials

Talks have started between the government, NHS and the pharmaceutical industry on a new medicines pricing scheme which it is hoped will help reinvigorate industry research in the UK.

The voluntary scheme on branded medicines is a non-binding agreement on how much the NHS pays for medicines, negotiated between the department of health, the NHS and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry.
