UK government invests £22m in two semiconductor centres

Southampton and Bristol hubs will work on silicon photonics and compound semiconductors

The UK government is to hand out £11 million each to two centres to help them research and bring semiconductor chip technologies to market.

Research hubs in Southampton and Bristol, called Innovation and Knowledge Centres, will receive the cash boost to look into silicon photonics and compound semiconductors.
