RCUK promises green OA clarity this month

Research Councils UK will flesh out its position on green open access publishing as part of updated guidance due at the end of the month, chairman Rick Rylance has said.

Speaking at an evidence session for the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee’s inquiry into open access, Rylance said the guidance, which will be published to update the OA policy released last year, will be clear about the length of embargo periods required by RCUK.
