The Royal Society of Chemistry in London has established an online repository to give researchers open access to articles published in its journals.
The Chemical Sciences Repository will give open access to articles from RSC journals—either immediately (under the gold model) or after an embargo period (imposed by the green model). It will also give open access to datasets attached to the articles. More developments of the system are expected in the coming months, including data validation.
“We plan to grow the Chemical Sciences Repository, with the addition of open-access papers from institutional repositories, other publishers, and individuals,” said David James, the RSC’s executive director of strategic innovation, in a statement.
