The group convened to study the UK’s implementation of open-access academic publishing policies has published an invitation to tender to collect data.
The research will be the backbone of the work of the group, which is chaired by Adam Tickell, provost and vice-principal at the University of Birmingham, and supported by staff at the vice-chancellors’ group Universities UK.
The tender calls for proposals to collect data and evidence in four areas: accessibility; availability of open-access options; usage; and financial sustainability. These areas are based on recommendations set out in a document published by the Research Information Network in March 2014 about what data should be collected in order to monitor implementation of open access.
