UK research funders are preparing to launch a survey on how universities and colleges are complying with open-access policies.
The Higher Education Funding Council for England, the Wellcome Trust, Research Councils UK and Jisc, the UK’s higher education ICT organisation, will publish the online survey at the end of the summer, HEFCE announced on 20 June.
Institutions will have a four-week window to provide feedback, which will shape policy, including how open access is delivered and open-access reporting processes. Additionally the data will provide an open-access policy benchmark for the 2021 Research Excellence Framework.
