The National Institute for Health Research has said that it supports “the aims and goals” of the controversial open-access initiative Plan S.
The NIHR already has an open-access policy and says it will review it to meet the requirements of Plan S, which seeks to make all publicly funded research results openly available by 2020.
“We believe that the universal availability of the publications arising from the research we fund is important to achieving our vision of improving the health and wealth of the nation through research,” the organisation said in a statement.
