Cambridge press launches open-access platform

Cambridge University Press has launched an open-content platform for early and open research such as preprints, abstracts and conference posters.

The platform, called Cambridge Open Engage, will be free to access, the publisher announced on 29 July. The American Political Science Association has already signed up, with its preprint service set to launch in August.

Cambridge University Press is aiming to increase open access across the globe with several open-access deals announced this year. In April, the publisher signed an open-access deal with the University of California. This followed one with the Bavarian State Library on behalf of higher education and research institutions in Germany, as well as a deal in February with the UK’s higher education IT agency Jisc.
