Higher education IT firm did not consult its members before pulling funding, claims library group
Higher education IT organisation Jisc has been criticised for not consulting the sector before deciding to pull funding for Core, the leading platform aggregating open-access research papers.
Jisc—a membership organisation that provides UK universities with shared digital infrastructures and services—recently said that it would stop funding the Core platform, which it said needed “to move towards a more sustainable financial model which does not require Jisc funding”.
