South-west universities add to growing rights retention support

GW4 Alliance follows in footsteps of other UK universities with joint statement on rights retention

Universities in the south-west have followed in the footsteps of many others across the UK by backing rights retention.

Rights retention is an increasingly common strategy to achieve open access, in which researchers establish their rights to reuse their manuscripts when submitting articles to journals. Keeping hold of their rights, instead of transferring them to a publisher, enables researchers to deposit the manuscript in an open-access repository.
