Committee opens drugs inquiry

The House of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee has launched an inquiry into the government’s 2010 drugs strategy and efforts to reduce the supply and demand of illicit drugs.

It will examine issues such as the independence and quality of expert advice; the criteria used by the government to measure the efficacy of its drug policies; and the comparative harm and cost of legal and illegal drugs.
