Scotland launches renewables blueprint

The Scottish Government has launched an action plan it says will allow it to meet 30 per cent of overall energy demand from renewables by 2020.

As well as progressing initiatives already underway to develop offshore wave and tidal technologies and onshore biomass, the “2020 Routemap for Renewables” outlines plans to develop small-scale and locally-owned projects such as microgeneration and “agri-renewables”.
