Business services biggest winner in R&D tax-credit scheme

Business services in the UK soaked up £410 million out of £940m in total costs of research and development tax credit claims in 2010-11, Conservative treasury minister David Gauke has announced.

Gauke publsihed the figures in a written response to Labour’s shadow science minister, Chi Onwurah, who requested information on how much was spent on R&D tax credits in each sector of the economy in the last three years.
