Commons Library outlines higher education trends

The House of Commons Library has published a note describing trends in higher education, including the 7.7 per cent drop in applications by 30 June 2012.

The note details steeper declines in students liable for higher fees and an even larger drop in older applicants who could have avoided higher fees by starting earlier. The number of accepted applicants through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service was 5.8 per cent lower in 2012 than 2011.
