No cuts, but budget for Parliament science office is frozen

The budget of the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology has been frozen until 2015 following a campaign to save it from cuts.

A recent report of the Commons’ Finance and Services Committee, which considers expenditure and administration for the House, proposed that POST reduce expenditure by £98,000, which represents a 17 per cent cut in its total budget. Any cut above 10 per cent would have required POST to make some members of staff redundant.
