A shortage of skilled engineers is a major cause of concern for manufacturing industries relying on science and technology R&D, according to speakers at an Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group meeting on 11 September.
Richard Hague, director of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council centre for innovative manufacturing in additive manufacturing, said it struggled to recruit the right graduates into advanced manufacturing roles.
