Universities and science minister David Willetts has confirmed that a separate budget for the British Antarctic Survey will be developed within the Natural Environment Research Council’s budget.
He said that NERC should have a “discrete funding line for Antarctic infrastructure and logistics from within the ring-fenced science budget”.
