Lecturers’ union backs pro-immigration campaign

The University and College Union has lent its support to a national poster campaign outlining the contribution that immigrants make to British society.

Sally Hunt, the UCU’s general secretary, called the campaign a timely reminder of the “huge benefits” of immigration.

“The current political debate focuses too much on searching for scapegoats and fostering an intolerance of others. We need a far more positive approach from politicians of all stripes,” Hunt said.
